Looping The Fallowfield Loop (April 2009)

In suburban south manchester there is an oasis of calm for walkers and cyclists along the path of a former railway.  Thanks to the lobbying of local residents the FaoolowField Loop Lione is a delightful route across southern manchester and a part of National Cycle Route 60.

The route runs from Chorlton in the West to Debdale Park in the East. It is well surfaced and wide with vegetaion surrounding it in most places although you can catch the odd glimpse of the railway path with the former Levenshulme station and old bridges in view.

The route can be easily accessed from the current Levenshulme or Mauldeth Road stations and it is worth a visit this spring or summer.
