By some quirk of political boundaries the southern tip of Manchester Airport, including much of Runway 2, falls within the leafy Borough of Macclesfield.
This gives me an excuse to write about the Manchester Airport Orbital Cycleway.
This 8 mile route is mainly traffic-free, using bridleways, quiet roads and cycle paths.
